How to Measure Your Dog for a Harness, Collar, and Coat

To ensure a perfect fit, use a soft tape measure (not a steel one) and have your dog standing squarely. Measure in centimeters.

Harness:

  • Chest/Girth Measurement: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your dog’s body, just behind the front legs. Allow for two fingers of space for comfort. If your dog is near the upper end of a size range, consider sizing up, especially for certain breeds.

  • Neck/Head Measurement: For a bespoke harness, measure the head at its widest point by making a loop with the tape that easily slips on and off. This is crucial for deep-chested breeds like Daschunds, Staffies, or Pugs.

  • Chest Strap Measurement (for deep-chested breeds): Measure from point B to D, as shown in the diagram.

Size Guide for Head/Neck Hole (Not Girth Sizes):

Measure your dog carefully. If unsure, send us the measurements and let us know if your dog is still growing. We can advise on the appropriate size and make any necessary bespoke adjustments.

Collar: Measure around the neck (A-B on the diagram) and add 2-3 cm for comfort. Ensure the collar allows for two fingers of space to avoid being too tight.

Coat: Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. If you want the coat to cover the tail, include this in your measurement.

Careful measurement is key to ensuring your dog’s comfort and the perfect fit of our products.
